Johannesburg Varsity College (Pty)Ltd established in 2009, has survived the test of time and has continued existing as a Higher Education and Training College. Established with an objective to offer skills to the formerly disadvantaged sections of the community, JVC has greatly advanced on this front. With this as part of the mission statement of the college, the economic factor has been compromised since the largest part of the clientele come from poor backgrounds. The College has had to offer bursaries to a large number of students who have been orphaned, with jobless parents, but having good Matric results. The use of education as a tool for development has been the main stay of the scope of the programmers of Johannesburg Varsity College. JVC remains cognizant of the fact that it is located in the center of the main locations around Braamfontein, areas of abject poverty, high unemployment and severe underemployment. As a result Johannesburg varsity college has tailored its academic programmer and community partnership projects with the purpose of offering relevant and quality Higher education and Training Certificates and National diplomas while meeting the developmental needs of the area. Johannesburg Varsity College is undergoing self – transformation for the beneficial role in a transformed Higher Education and Training sector in the country. At the apex of this transformation process, Johannesburg varsity college is destined to become the home of Higher Education and Training in the province.
